By story's end, she ends up with Captain Kingston and wealth as well.

  The Communist scare was on in the early 1950s, and this film, though weak in most respects, captures the flavor of the times. Mr. Ohman (Dan O'Herlihy) enters a bar in New York where the customers discuss current events. A TV news bulletin on the bar's TV states that the U.S. is being invaded. All but Mr. Ohman react with panic and head out to deal with their fate. Mr. Ohman's calm in the storm is revealed at film's end as an invasion, including the use of a nuclear bomb, takes place.

  Johnny McBride (Anthony Quinn) was badly hurt in a car crash two years ago and is suffering from amnesia when he learns that he is from the town of Lyncastle. Johnny returns home and finds that he is the suspect in a murder rap and that he is accused of stealing $250,000 from the bank he worked in. Johnny investigates and learns that his girlfriend Vera, who also worked at the bank, disappeared after the heist, got plastic surgery, and changed her name. She has returned to Lyncastle, but can Johnny identify her and, hopefully, clear his name?
