This film involves the 24th annual reunion of a Pennsylvania high-school basketball team's celebration of their 1957 championship. Time has taken its toll on the squad members, which becomes apparent as their drinking leads to a revelation of their current lives. This filmed version of Jason Miller's Pulitzer Prize-winning play just doesn't have the play's greatness.

But, on investigation, he finds out that the man was beaten into the confession by the police, and witnesses were beaten into providing the "correct" testimony. Because of this and other similar cases, he is targeted by the police for harassment. The corruption appears to go all the way up to the mayor's office.
