Coach Bobby Geiser (Patrick Duffy) has won several Little League championships but now takes on a group of less-than-stellar players after losing a bet. Kanin (Cameron Finley) is one of the weak players selected and looks forward to learning from the successful coach. But the new players are destined to ride the bench. Angry parents get Bobby ousted from his job, and he is replaced by a retired coach, Billy (Edward Asner), who lacks as much confidence as his players. Nonetheless, the team makes it to the championship game against–you guessed it–Bobby's new team.
