As this story begins, Ollie Trinke (Ben Affleck) seems to have it all. He is a successful Manhattan publicist, and his wife, Gertrude (Jennifer Lopez), is pregnant. But Gertrude dies in childbirth, leaving Ollie with a baby girl, Gertie. Now, seven years later, Ollie lives with his father (George Carlin) in Hylands, NJ, along with Gertie (Raquel Castro). This story not only deals with the father/daughter relationship but with father/son and father/new love interest (Liv Tyler)/daughter relationships as well.
