Academy Awards were received for Best Picture and Best Actress (Tandy). Awards were also received for Best Writing and Makeup, as well as five nominations, including Best Actor (Freeman).

  Director Walt Price's (William H. Now the script must be rewritten–to the dismay of playwright Joseph Turner White (Philip Seymour Hoffman)–because the title is "The Old Mill," and Waterford has no mill. While the locals are enthralled with the movie-making glitz, the producer, Marty Rossen (David Paymer), struggles to keep his stars under control and the movie within budget.
