Alan Bates reprises his Broadway role of English Literature Professor Ben Butley who returns to London University after a vacation weekend. Then, his male lover Joey (Richard O'Callaghan) announces that he has a new boyfriend. The bad news continues with Edna (Jessica Tandy) complaining that Butley has stolen one of her tutorial students, and it goes on and on–making for one VERY BAD day.
