A family birthday party is the catalyst for accusations and revealed family secrets. But the party is only one chapter in this family saga. The next morning–after the worst has been brought to the table–the family meets again in the same room, at the same table, for breakfast! This is the first of a series of films made under the strict rules of the Danish Dogme 95 manifesto: purity and austerity in filmmaking–hand-held cameras and no musical score, for example.
