Among the several Academy Award nominations were Best Picture, Director, Actor (both Burton and O'Toole), and Supporting Actor (John Gielgud for his role as King Louis VII of France).

  This film stars Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton as Cleopatra and Marc Antony, but the film is more famous for the off-screen romance of the two stars. Cleopatra is queen of Egypt and uses her wiles to begin an affair with Roman emperor Julius Caesar (Rex Harrison) in order to gain power to retain her empire. When Caesar is killed in the Roman Senate, Cleopatra seduces Roman general Marc Antony planning to make him her protector. But, Marc Antony is defeated at the Battle of Actium, and the doomed lovers meet for the last time. The film won four Oscars (Best Cinematography, Art Direction, Costume, and Special Visual Effects) and had five nominations including Best Picture and Actor (Harrison).

Lucy's fiance Arthur Holmwood (Simon Ward) consults with Dr. Van Helsing (Nigel Davenport) who believes a vampire is responsible for Lucy's declining condition and sets off in pursuit of the Count.

  What would you do if a vampire (Chris Sarandon) moved into the house next door? No one believes Charley when he tells them about the vampire. Charley's girlfriend Amy (Amanda Bearse) doesn't believe him, thinks he is crazy, and then falls under the vampire's spell. Charley then gets help from Peter Vincent (Roddy McDowall) who once acted in horror films but is now the host of a TV show "Friday Night."   You cannot go wrong with this Shakespearean effort directed by and starring Laurence Olivier. Richard does become king but then must deal with Henry Tudor (Stanley Baker) and defend his realm at the Battle of Bosworth. At the battle field, Richard cries out, "A horse! A horse! My kingdom for a horse!" just before he is struck down. Olivier was nominated for a Best Actor Academy Award.

Meanwhile, Heathcliff, who has left, returns a wealthy man, and Hindley gambles away Wuthering Heights to him.
