After the pharaoh's daughter Princess Sephora (Yvonne De Carlo) finds the abandoned infant Moses, she takes him home, and he is raised in her brother Seti's (Charlton Heston) court. When Moses grows up, he is hated by Seti's son Rameses (Yul Brynner) and competes with him for the love of Princess Nefretire (Anne Baxter). When the true heritage of Moses is revealed, he is cast out of Egypt, but God commands him to return and lead the enslaved Jews from Egypt to the Promised Land. Special effects are great in this Cecil B. DeMille film, his second go-around with this story. There were seven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. The Special Effects won an Oscar.
