Benji appears in his third film. This time, the story revolves around private eye Benjamin Browning (Chevy Chase) who is murdered. When he arrives in heaven, he is told that he will be assigned a new body and is told to track down his murderer. Browning is reincarnated in Benji's body. The search goes on while Benji/Browning's owner Jackie Howard (Jane Seymour) has no idea that she has become his new love interest.
