Following his parents' murder, teenager Rick Riker (Drake Bell) lives with his Aunt Lucille (Marion Ross) and Uncle Albert (Leslie Nielsen). He can't even get up enough nerve to tell Jill Johnson (Sara Paxton) how much he cares for her. One day, Rick's class takes a field trip to Amalgamated Pharmaceuticals where Rick is bitten by a dragonfly. Rick recovers from the bite and finds that he has gained super powers with skin as strong as steel, and he decides to use his powers to promote goodness. He dons a costume and becomes The Dragonfly. But, as always happens, there is a nemesis–this time, in the person of Lou Landers (Christopher McDonald) who is the CEO of Amalgamated Pharmaceuticals and has become a super-villain in the form of The Hourglass. Will The Dragonfly find the means to stop The Hourglass from leeching the life force from all he encounters in order to achieve immortality?
