  Newly promoted Admiral Kirk (William Shatner) joins Capt. Khan is seeking revenge against Kirk for having been exiled on a desolate planet and steals the Genesis device that can transform long-dead planets. Khan plots to use the device for his own evil purpose, and while Kirk battles him, Spock sacrifices himself to save his shipmates on the Enterprise.

  The adventures of the original crew of the Enterprise come to an end, and it is time for a peace treaty between the Klingons and the Federation. Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and the crew set out to escort the Klingon Chancellor Gorkon (David Warner) to Earth. But, on the trip, Gorkon is assassinated, and Kirk and crewmember Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy (DeForest Kelley) are blamed. During his investigation, Capt. Spock (Leonard Nimoy) learns that there are those who do not like the idea of a treaty, and the assassination was the plot of Klingon General Chang (Christopher Plummer). Now, Spock tries to clear Kirk's name–which may prove to be an impossible task before war breaks out, and it is too late.

H.G. now hopes for a utopian existence, but Jack continues his activities as a serial killer.

  In the 1890s, cotton exporter James Houston (Christopher Walken) masterminds a plot to take over the New Orleans docks. When police chief David Hennessy (Clancy Brown) stands in the way, he is killed. As a result of the homicide, Sicilian immigrants who work on the New Orleans docks are rounded up for questioning. Eventually, nine go on trial, but all are acquitted. However, the populace does not agree with the verdicts, and a series of lynchings result. This made-for-HBO film is based on a true story.

Lawrence's seat partner on the plane is Peace Corps worker Tom Tuttle (John Candy). They meet and become friends. Their mission in Thailand is to build a bridge for the local villagers, but opposing forces–the local Communists, an opium warlord, and the CIA–have their own unique plans for the bridge. With help from English speaking At Toon (Gedde Watanabe), Lawrence and Tom finally figure out what is really best for the villagers.
