When bank robber Harry Reikle (Christopher Plummer) robs the bank where Miles Cullen (Elliott Gould) is the teller, Cullen diverts $50,000 into his own safety deposit box. The newspapers report the bank's losses, and only then does Reikle realize that he does not have all the money. Now, Reikle and Cullen match wits when Reikle pressures Cullen to hand over the missing money.
