  A puppy finds its way into the household of George and Alice Newton (Charles Grodin and Bonnie Hunt) and, after pleading from the kids–Ryce, Ted and Emily (Nicholle Tom, Christopher Castile, and Sarah Rose Karr)–is allowed to stay. The pup grows into a big, bumbling St. Bernard, which keeps the family busy. Meanwhile, the sleazy animal experimenter Herman Varnick (Dean Jones), from whom the puppy escaped, still needs specimens.

As a result, both become dependent on the plastic surgery services of Ernest. The special effects in this film are worth the price of admission.

  Action, Drama, and a Comedy all rolled into one. This is a brilliant movie, and it looks like Robert Downey Jr. is getting back into his acting groove!
