Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland 1992 G, 85 min. Genre: Animation / Family / Adventure / Fantasy
Director: Misami Hata, William T. Hurtz Cast: Gabriel Damon, Mickey Rooney, Rene Auberjonois, Danny Mann, Laura Mooney, Bernard Erhard, William E. Martin, Alan Oppenheimer, Michael Bell, Sidney Miller, Nancy Cartwright, June Foray, Kathleen Freeman, Michael Gough
Jointly made by the U.S. and Japan (taking advantage of Japan's animation techniques), this is a good children's story based on an early 1900s' comic strip. Dreams take Nemo (voice of Gabriel Damon) and his flying squirrel friend (voice of Danny Mann) off to a magic land where he befriends the king (voice of Bernard Erhard) and receives the keys to the kingdom. One no-no: do not open the forbidden door. Of course Nemo does, and bad things happen as the forces from Nightmareland are unleashed. Nemo learns several lessons while saving Slumberland.

Director: David Silverman Cast: Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Harry Shearer, Marcia Wallace, Hank Azaria, Billie Joe Armstrong, Tress MacNeille, Pamela Hayden, Joe Mantegna, Albert Brooks, Tre Cool, Russi Taylor, Tom Hanks
The long-running TV show "The Simpsons" comes to the screen with more adventures of the Simpson family. Lisa Simpson (voice of Yeardley Smith) takes on the environmental-awareness cause to clean up Springfield's lake, while her father, Homer (voice of Dan Castellaneta), remains clueless and even dares his son, Bart (voice of Nancy Cartwright), to skateboard around town in the nude. Matters take a downhill turn when Homer brings a pig home as a family pet, which leaves Marge (voice of Julie Kavner) nagging him to get rid of the pig's droppings. Homer dumps the pig's waste in the lake–an act that results in getting the attention of E.P.A. head Russ Cargill (voice of Albert Brooks) who convinces President Schwarzenegger (voice of Harry Shearer) to have a plastic dome placed over Springfield. Now, it is up to Homer to save Springfield.

In this spinoff of the TV series, the first full-length "animaniacs" movie, the gang follows a wishing star that has fallen to Earth. OK family fare, which is not as "wakky" as the series.
