Pulp 1972 PG, 95 min. Genre: Comedy
Director: Mike Hodges Cast: Michael Caine, Mickey Rooney, Lionel Stander, Lizabeth Scott, Nadia Cassini, Dennis Price, Al Lettieri, Leopoldo Trieste, Amerigo Tot, Robert Sacchi
Following the success of "Get Carter" the previous year, Mike Hodges and Michael Caine team up again, this time for laughs. Mickey King (Caine) is a fiction writer who is asked to ghost-write for the autobiography of retired actor–and, possibly, mobster–Preston Gilbert (Mickey Rooney). After Preston is murdered, Mickey decides to solve the mystery as a method of finishing his story. Good acting, especially by Rooney.
