  Jim Gray (Harry Carey) is accused of murdering his friend Bud Brandon (Art Mix) and is arrested. He breaks out of jail with help from Neil Denham (Jack Gallagher) and sets out to prove his innocence. Later, Neil is killed, leaving Marcia (Kathleen Collins) a widow, and she becomes Jim's sidekick while Jim assumes Neil's identity. Jim joins forces with "Dude" Sanders (George "Gabby" Hayes), and they go off in search of the mysterious "The General" (Tetsu Komai) who is the Chinese leader of bandits. The bandits are vandalizing cattle hoping to stir up discontent among the ranchers so that they will not be noticed smuggling dynamite across the border. Surprises lie in wait–including who is the real leader of the bandits.

  Following their wedding, Oliver Reed (Kent Smith) learns that his wife Irena (Simone Simon) believes that she is a Cat Woman as a member of an ancient Serbian tribe and has a genetic tendency to turn into a panther when emotionally aroused. Oliver tries to help Irena by getting her psychiatric help from Dr. Louis Judd (Tom Conway), but Oliver runs into major problems. The marriage is failing, and Oliver becomes romantically interested in coworker Alice Moore (Jane Randolph). Now, a jealous Irena's stalking of Alice turns into a night of terror in a swimming pool.
