A lottery scam is carried out by Harrisburg, Pa. TV weather forecaster Russ Richards (John Travolta) and his friend, Gig (Tim Roth). The scam works, but before long a tangled web is woven into which more characters–including Lotto ball girl Crystal Latroy (Lisa Kudrow), greedy station manager Dick Simmons (Ed O'Neill), and two cops (Bill Pullman and Daryl Mitchell)–become part of the deception.
