Once a promising novelist, heavy drinker Tulley (Anthony LaPaglia) bides his time editing at a NYC advertising firm. His life changes when in the period of one week he falls in love with schoolteacher Natalie (Caroleen Feeney) and then learns he has liver cancer. Best friend Levine (Eric Stoltz) and Natalie offer support as Tulley works to complete the novel he started 17 years ago.
