  Joel (Jason Bateman) owns a flavor extract company where an accident on the assembly line injures an employee, Step (Clifton Collins Jr.). Step threatens to sue, and this is just one of the catastrophes–both personal and professional–that Joel will face. His marriage to Suzie (Kristen Wiig) is reaching the breaking point, and his friend Dean (Ben Affleck) suggests that Joel test Suzie's faithfulness. Meanwhile, scam-artist Cindy (Mila Kunis) has her eyes on taking over Joel's company. Will Joel be able to piece together his personal and professional lives and move on with his life?

  Because he is an under-achiever, G.I. Joe Bauers (Luke Wilson) is chosen for the Pentagon Human Hibernation Project in which he is to be cryogenically frozen for one year. Joining him in the project is a prostitute, Rita (Maya Rudolph), who agreed to be part of the experiment in exchange for clearing her criminal record. Problems develop, and it isn't until 500 years later that Joe and Rita are thawed out. Because stupid people now far outnumber intelligent people, Joe and Rita re-enter the world as the smartest people on the planet. Are they stuck in this new world, or will they be able to travel back those 500 years in time?

  In this satire on the corporate world, white-collar workers at Initech hate their jobs but put up with insufferable management mandates. Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston) is near a breakdown when his girlfriend, Anne (Alexandra Wentworth), suggests a hypnotherapist for help. But under hypnosis, the hypnotist dies–leaving Peter in a perpetually relaxed state, which brings about major changes: he drops Anne, dates beautiful waitress Joanne (Jennifer Aniston), and determines to talk his coworkers into joining him in getting back at the greedy Initech boss.
