Bruce's father, Dr. David Banner (Nick Nolte), starts to secretly use the ray and mutates dogs that he sends after Bruce's ex-girlfriend Betty Ross (Jennifer Connelly). In the form of the Hulk, Bruce saves Betty, and Betty's father Gen. "Thunderball" Ross (Sam Elliott) takes him to a base that the Army has abandoned. At the base lab, Glen Talbot (Josh Lucas) takes over the Hulk and plots to use him for his own profit. Now, the Hulk escapes and lunges across the desert with the Army in hot pursuit. A good comic-book rendition but too intense for young children.
