Greasers Ponyboy Curtis (C. Thomas Howell) and his friend Johnny Cade (Ralph Macchio) make friends with rich Cherry (Diane Lane) and Marcia (Michelle Meyrink), and the Socs beat them up. This action leads to murder and sets off a chain of events that goes beyond any control.
