This story, set in the 1960s, deals with teenage gangs in Oklahoma. The two gangs consist of the Socs who are kids with money and the Greasers who are kids from the wrong side of the tracks. Greasers Ponyboy Curtis (C. Thomas Howell) and his friend Johnny Cade (Ralph Macchio) make friends with rich Cherry (Diane Lane) and Marcia (Michelle Meyrink), and the Socs beat them up. This movie is about Boys that are young and reckless. These boys grew up in the Outside of society. They are rebels classified/labeled under Greasers. They weren't looking for a fight with the Socs. Boys who live on the west-side of town, rich cold kids. They were looking to belong. The main characters are Ponyboy , a boy who dreams another world where he would me normal and happy as well as Johnny his best buddy. Then there is Dally Winston who looks at the world with much hatred, and the rest of the gang, Two-Bit, Steve,Sodapop, and Darry. |
