This story takes place in 1950s' Baltimore where 12-year-old Danny Hines (Gregory Smith) dreams of climbing a 203-foot radio tower. Unexpected help comes from ill-tempered, dying neighbor Chuck Langer (John Hurt) who has suggestions for how Danny can succeed in climbing the tower.
