Dangerfield steals the show.

Lila is a Mohawk who, for cash, smuggles illegal immigrants across the frozen St. Lawrence River. After confrontations, the women join forces, and, keeping their eyes out for the state troopers and conditions of the river, they gas up the car and make dangerous trips across the river. The film received two Academy Award nominations including Melissa Leo for Best Actress.
