  This funny (and well-acted) film chronicles a slice of African-American college life. After two years together, Perry (RonReaco Lee) and Stephanie (Deanna Davis) decide to separate during a summer break. First-time writer/director Fisher makes effective use of flashbacks as the principals and their friends talk into the camera, giving their recollections of the past two years.

  L.A. street dancer DJ's (Columbus Short) brother dies in his arms following a gunshot wound. Grieving over this tragedy, DJ leaves L.A. to attend Atlanta's Truth University where he joins Theta Nu Theta fraternity. Romance with April (Meagan Good), class conflict, and dancing ensue. Although DJ doesn't fit in to the college lifestyle, he uses his hip-hop dance style to help his fraternity brothers update their traditional moves and, hopefully, win the Annual Step Championships.    2 User Reviews
