George is later signed with the Boston Red Sox, and he begins his career of hitting homers. Ruth is sold to the Yankees and brings his wife Helen (Trini Alvarado) to the city, but their marriage breaks up soon after. Ruth's second wife is Ziegfeld showgirl Claire Hodgeson (Kelly McGillis), and life becomes fun–for awhile. This script also objectively relates the ups and downs of Ruth's career. The on-field play is enhanced by use of good old Danville (Illinois) Stadium.
