Assanti handcuffs himself to Scott and then claims that he is wired with explosives ready to detonate if demands are not met. Now Burns escapes on his horse, and he is chased by Sheriff Morey Johnson (Walter Matthau)–along with jeeps and helicopters–as he heads for the border.
