Strong, silent Smith (Clive Owen) encounters a pregnant woman (Ramona Pringle) who is being attacked by a thug. After figuring that the baby is the target, Smith takes the infant to a lactating prostitute (Monica Bellucci) to serve as a wet nurse. Now, Smith hunts down the criminal mastermind Hertz (Paul Giamatti) to find out just why he wants the infant killed. And gun battles ensue throughout the chase.
