  This musical remake of the 1937 drama stars Elvis Presley as ex-GI Walter Gulick who works out at Willie Grogan's (Gig Young) training camp to achieve his goal of becoming a successful boxer. After Gulick saves Grogan's partner Dolly (Lola Albright) from gangsters' clutches, she gives him the name "Kid Galahad," and he rises through the boxing ranks. Gulick knows he has the talent to win the upcoming championship, but his trainer Lew (Charles Bronson) has been bribed to contribute to Gulick losing his big fight. The fight begins, and "Kid Galahad" refuses to give up. He wins the match–and the love of his life, Rose (Joan Blackman), as well.

  A discredited professor (Edward G. Robinson) organizes a gang of thieves, plans a robbery, and then attempts it. The target is the bank vault inside a Monte Carlo casino. There is one problem: the criminals realize that there is no way to fence the loot and return it to the casino. Their take after all the work is the $3,000 they win at the gambling tables. Very good performances.
