They quickly realize that the island contains giant plants and creatures, and they are confronted by pirates. They even meet Capt. Nemo (Herbert Lom) of the "Nautilus" from "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" and learn of his plan to feed the world's population, thus ending wars.
