They go to the church, but the money is missing, and now they hold the parishioners captive. Among the group of hostages are choirmaster Rickey (Katt Williams), Sister Doris (Loretta Devine), and Pastor Arthur Mitchell (Chi McBride). When Avila finds officers willing to testify against Peck, they end up dead, and the investigation is filled with other problems–including resistance from Avila's superiors who consider Peck an asset to the force. Finally, Avila investigates Peck's partner, Stretch (William Baldwin), and Peck, who believes that Avila is investigating him only to seek a promotion, begins stalking Avila and even turns Avila against his wife, Kathleen (Nancy Travis).
