Among the characters are an alcoholic father (Peter Falk) who manipulates his son (Bill Stockton), a cab driver (football great Don Meredith who in real-life is the director's father), and a disabled janitor (Joey Bilow) being forced out of his job. All have their unique sets of problems and now must endure a three day rain storm.
