Matters deteriorate when Morgan gets drunk and releases psychotic pyromaniac Saul Fenn (Brember Wills) who tries to kill Penderel and set the house on fire.

most movie critics are to harsh ,Most movies for a step back from reality and not always have to a express realism and movie ingeneral are us just to clear minds to get back of today's rat race.

  This film adaptation of W. Somerset Maugham's play, "Home and Beauty," features Fred MacMurray as Bill Cardew who was reported drowned at sea and now comes home to find his "widow" Vickie (Jean Arthur) in love with her new husband, Henry Lowndes (Melvyn Douglas). This film was remade as "Three for the Show."

There is a murder trial, but Anna is cleared, goes through a spiritual rebirth, and finds a new life with Dr. Segert who has finally realized that he loves her.
