Following a typhoon, Lieutenant Maryk (Van Johnson) is tried for mutiny because of his actions during the storm. Queeg's testimony and downfall as he rolls ball bearings in his fist is a classic scene. The film received several Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Actor (Bogart), and Supporting Actor (Tom Tully).
