  This story is based on the real life of Violette Szabo (Virginia McKenna) who joined the British secret service during World War II. Violette was captured and sent to a concentration camp where she was tortured and finally executed. Her bravery in not revealing British secrets earned her (posthumously) the George Cross.

Charles suspects that Helene is cheating on him, prompting him to hire a private detective to find out. When he gets the name of her lover, Charles calmly confronts the man and kills him, followed by getting rid of the evidence and dumping the body into a pond. The police question Helene, but she lies about the affair and when she finds a picture of her lover in Charles' pocket, she does not tell the police. In fact, Helene has a new respect for Charles. Excellent Hitchcock-like tale.
