But, "Niki" refuses to consummate the marriage–until good-hearted Franzi performs a makeover on Anna, and "Niki" falls for Anna. The film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.

When Whispering Smith learns that there is valuable tungsten on Nan's land, he comes to her aid before her land is taken from her by villains.
