The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial 1988 TV, 100 min. Genre: Drama
Director: Robert Altman Cast: Eric Bogosian, Jeff Daniels, Brad Davis, Peter Gallagher, Michael Murphy, Kevin J. O'Connor, Daniel Jenkins, Danny Darst, Ken Michels, Matt Malloy, David Miller, Kenneth V. Jones, Matt Smith, L.W. Wyman, Brian Haley
Based on Herman Wouk's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, this is a very well-produced, made-for-TV film about the compulsive Captain Queeg (Brad Davis) whose crew mutinies and takes over their minesweeper. Lt. Steve Maryk (Jeff Daniels) led the mutiny because a deadly storm was brewing, and Maryk felt that Capt. Queeg was losing his sanity. The act leads to a court martial. Defense attorney Lt. Barney Greenwald (Eric Bogosian) calls Queeg to testify for the defense–knowing that the only way to win the case is to prove that Capt. Queeg really was incompetent. A compelling story.
