Pen and Edie (Stockard Channing and Jennifer Tilly) are both in Reno for quickie divorces and meet as they leave the courtroom. They hit it off and head to a bar for talk. They meet Harry (Scott Glenn) who is also recently divorced and unhappy mostly because his ex-wife got his dog. Along the way it comes out that Edie plans to marry Pen's ex-husband. Also, Harry does his best to get in bed with Pen.
