Orson Welles' brief appearance as Judge Rauch is the highlight of this film.

Jayne Mansfield, in her last film, attempts to handle a serious role. After three failed relationships, two pregnancies, and two name changes, Johnnie (Mansfield) continues to seek a better life–this time as a prostitute. After a fight between Jayne and her husband/director, Jayne took off, and the production was halted. She was killed in an auto accident before she returned, and an ending had to be pieced together. There is also a tribute to Jayne narrated by Walter Winchell that precedes the film.
