  Although her marriage to Filippo (Filippo Nigro) is in trouble, 29-year-old Giovanna (Giovanna Mezzogiorno) and Filippo are devoted to their two young children. They meet a Holocaust survivor (Massimo Girotti) and bring him home where they learn of his sacrifices during World War II. Meanwhile, Giovanna is considering her own sacrifice: a forbidden love for next-door neighbor Lorenzo (Raoul Bova) on whom she spends her time spying. Once the two stories are told, past and present interact in this interesting story from Italian director Ferzan Ozpetek.

It doesn't take long for Floyd to fall for Fred's wife, Michelle (Ursula Andress), and ends up in bed with her. But, now the diamonds are missing and matters take even more of a turn for the worse when Joe, suspecting a double-cross, arrives on the scene.
