American Psycho 2000 R, 101 min. Genre: Horror / Thriller
Director: Mary Harron Cast: Christian Bale, Willem Dafoe, Jared Leto, Reese Witherspoon, Samantha Mathis, Chloe Sevigny, Justin Theroux, Josh Lucas, Bill Sage, Matt Ross
Bret Easton Ellis' 1991 satirical novel about the lack of morality on Wall Street in the 1980s features Christian Bale as the young Yuppie who goes to work and, apparently, does nothing but watch TV, make dinner reservations, and listen to pop ballads. It is the nighttime scene at which he excels: macabre acts of sex, violence, and murder.

I Shot Andy Warhol 1996 R, 103 min. Genre: Drama
Director: Mary Harron Cast: Lili Taylor, Jared Harris, Tahnee Welch, Stephen Dorff, Martha Plimpton, Donovan Leitch, Danny Morgenstern, Michael Imperioli, Gabriel Mann
On 3 June 1968, radical feminist Valerie Solanis (Lili Taylor) walked into Andy Warhol's office and shot him. (Although he survived, he suffered the effects of the trauma for the rest of his shortened life.) This film depicts the collision of the homosexual world of Andy Warhol and the loathing of a lesbian feminist who wrote the SCUM (Society for Cutting Up Men) manifesto. Nevertheless, one cannot help but like her rationality about her unique philosophy.
