Rusty Wells (Elvis Presley) leads a rock 'n' roll group that works for Chicago crime boss Big Frank (Harold Stone) who sends them to work in a Fort Lauderdale nightclub entertaining college students during Spring Break. Big Frank's reason for sending them to Florida is so that Rusty will watch over his daughter Valerie (Shelley Fabares) who is vacationing there. Rusty and Valerie fall in love, but Valerie drops him when she learns of her father's involvement. Then, Valerie gets involved with an Italian playboy (Fabrizio Mioni), goes on a drunken spree, and ends up in jail. But, by story's end, Rusty and Valerie are happily reunited. Songs include "Girl Happy," "Cross My Heart and Hope to Die," "Spring Fever, and "Startin' Tonight."
