The plot revolves around Queen (Halle Berry) who was the daughter of a slave, Easter (Jasmine Guy), and plantation owner James Jackson Jr. (Tim Daly). Queen is light skinned and tries to pass for a White person, but in the aftermath of the Civil War, she faces many obstacles along the way.

can't believe there is another review of this movie posted just days before mine. This movie came to mind today because Linda Blair is on an episode of "Supernatural" and it made me remember this movie she made with Martin Sheen. I, too, saw it as a teenager and am amazed by how clear it still seems in my mind. It obviously made quite an impression for me to be able to remember it so well. I really loved this movie and thought Sheen & Blair did an excellent job with it. |
