This Bill Clinton-like American President Andrew Shepherd (Michael Douglas) deals with media attention along with criticism when he (a widower) becomes involved with environmental lobbyist Sydney Wade (Annette Bening). Political enemies, including Kansas Senator Bob Rumson (Richard Dreyfuss), have a field day when Shepherd and Wade begin their love affair. This film provides great satire on today's made-for-TV Washington, D.C., politics and how issues get lost in the race for ratings.

  I
can't believe there is another review of this movie posted just days before mine. This movie came to mind today because Linda Blair is on an episode of "Supernatural" and it made me remember this movie she made with Martin Sheen. I, too, saw it as a teenager and am amazed by how clear it still seems in my mind. It obviously made quite an impression for me to be able to remember it so well. I really loved this movie and thought Sheen & Blair did an excellent job with it.
