  The "Narrator" (Edward Norton) is a lonely man who has trouble sleeping and feels alienated from those around him. When he meets Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), Durden challenges him to a fight, and the "Narrator" finds new help for his problems. Durden has created a new form of self-help sessions in which the method of curing frustrations is to gather like-minded bodies together and beat each other to a pulp. Durden's idea gains enormous popularity, clubs sprout up across America, and he becomes a cult hero.
