But, things get tough when an explosion causes a mirror image of Tromaville–Amortville–to be formed, and Toxie is stuck in this town (sound like Star Trek?) as his mirror image, the evil Noxie, is in Tromaville raising havoc. Troma Films has had several low budget cult "hits," including the "Toxic Avenger" series of four films led by "Toxie" who fights for the good of all. In this first one, local geek Melvin (Mark Torgl) is harassed by the "jocks" and falls into a barrel of toxic waste. He is transformed into the Toxic Avenger (Mitchell Cohen), a superhero. Lots of gore in this comedy/horror flick, but it is entertaining.
