Mike Enslin (John Cusack) makes a living writing about the supernatural, but he does not believe in ghosts–until he checks out room 1408 of Manhattan's Dolphin Hotel. Jackson), who tells Mike that the room will never be available because 56 people have died after checking into the suite, Mike forces Mr. Olin to rent him the room. Once in room 1408, Mike encounters a host of otherworldly faces, or are the horrors all in his mind? And, even more important, will Mike survive the night?
