  Rita Hayworth plays the Greek Goddess Terpsichore who visits Earth in the human form of Kitty Pendleton when she learns that Broadway producer Danny Miller (Larry Parks) is putting on a musical satire about Greek goddesses. She comes to help with the show but ends up landing a role in the play. Now, she gets Danny to change the show from a satire into a "work of art." But, her ideas are not very good, and the show turns into a major flop, but our Greek goddess makes everything right. Remade as "Xanadu" in 1980.

  Great dancing highlights this fanciful musical about seven brothers in 1850s' Oregon who "kidnap" seven women chosen as their brides. An avalanche prevents the girls' relatives from rescuing them, and love blooms before the spring thaw. An Academy Award went to the film for Best Musical Score, and a nomination was received for Best Picture along with three other nominations.

  This wartime film is about Rosalind Bruce (Rita Hayworth) and other London entertainers, including Judy Kane (Janet Blair) and Tommy Lawson (Marc Platt), who valiantly provide entertainment during the days of the bombing of London by Nazis. Between shows, Rosalind falls in love with RAF pilot Paul Lundy (Lee Bowman), while Judy and Tommy find romance with each other. But, Judy and Tommy are killed during a bombing, and Rosalind and Paul must part. Songs include "Anywhere," "Cry, and You Cry alone," "You Excite Me," "The Boy I Left Behind," and "Tonight and Every Night." Check out Shelley Winters in the chorus.
