Along the way, they are joined by members of other tribes whose members have also been taken prisoner by the marauders. By journey's end, they uncover the truth: their captured tribe members are serving as slaves for a lost civilization whose rulers are using them to build lofty pyramids. Now, D'Leh faces the fact that he is not only rescuing Evolet but all of civilization as well when he fights for the future of mankind.
