In this modern-day "Cyrano de Bergerac" story, high school jock Chris Campbell (James Franco) gets his friend Ryan (Shane West) to write love letters to Maggie Carter (Marla Sokoloff) after Maggie rejects Chris' initial overtures. At the same time, Chris helps Ryan connect with Ashley (Jodi Lynn O'Keefe). Through e-mails and phone calls, Chris and Maggie along with Ryan and Ashley set up dates for the prom.
