This film walked away with the Academy Award for Best Picture. It contains all the glitter of the Big Top presented through a number of stories interwoven into the circus world. In one of them, James Stewart plays a man who finds safety while on the lam by disguising himself in clown make-up. Other tales involve Charlton Heston and Betty Hutton, whose egos must be overcome to attain love. Look for Bing Crosby and Bob Hope as spectators in the grandstand. Director: Tom Gries Cast: Charlton Heston, Geraldine Chaplin, John Phillip Law, Tina Chen, Mako, Alec McCowen, Keye Luke, James Gregory, Lyle Bettger, James Hong
This disappointing sequel to "Hawaii" is also based on James Michener's novel, but it pales in comparison to the entertaining original film. This film's story picks up where the original left off and continues into contemporary times. 1 User Review
